The Travolution Start-up Summit returns in 2022 as an in-person event for the first time since the start of the COVID pandemic. We will once again be bringing together some of the most innovative founders and entrepreneurs with investors, mentors and institutions that support start-ups for this popular half-day event.
The Summit will take place on Wednesday, October 19 at 8:30am at News UK’s head office in London. Sessions will feature founders pitching their companies, investors and incubators discussing the opportunities for start-ups in travel and successful entrepreneurs sharing their experiences.
The Summit will also see the launch of the 2022 Travolution Innovation Report that analyses tech investment in the UK travel sector and showcases the most innovative players in the industry.
The 2022 Innovation Report will offer detailed insight of who’s spending how much on what in the UK travel industry. Our excusive analysis of Office for National Statistics data will show how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted what travel agents, tour operators, hotel companies, cruise and ferry operators and aviation firms are spending in five areas of IT. The report will also highlight the key areas that travel firms must be looking to innovate in as the sector continues to recover from the pandemic.

This session will bring together key investors, incubators and mentors to find out what they look for in a promising start-up that will persuade them to part with their cash and invest time and energy to nurture a new idea. We’ll be asking what the COVID pandemic has done to the appetite to invest in travel and whether the sector might be on the brink of an era of innovation as it looks to apply technological solutions to the challenges of digitisation and automation, scarce resources and ever-rising customer expectations.
